Identification of Waters

Natural connate subsurface waters throughout the Permian Basin have been recorded at Martin Water Laboratories, Inc. since 1953. These records provide a very extensive catalog for ready availability in identifying water sources. Several objectives can be accomplished by an analysis of a particular water by providing a characteristic or “fingerprint” which is used for identifying casing leaks, injection water breakthrough, load or spent acid, or identification of natural connate water. These “fingerprints” can also be used to identify the contamination source of fresh water.
